Today we’d like to introduce you to Bethony Wright.
Bethony, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started selling lashes to see where I would go with being an entrepreneur and selling what I love to wear. As a college student, I took it upon myself to find a side hustle to better my income, especially during these difficult times that Covid-19 has placed upon our community. Keeping our community in mind, I knew that lashes are favored by many women. My love for lashes began in the 9th/10th grade, but I could only wear the natural styled lashes, but as the years flew by I was able to explore different styles of lashes. Now I wear lashes interchangeably to complete my look.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As an upcoming entrepreneur, it has been quite a challenge to get my name out to the world. First and foremost, receiving my packaging and lashes took forever. This really discourages me because I am ready to work and the people around me are ready to shop. During COVID, it does take longer for packages to come in. You will be waiting about a month or more for the package to come in. When the pandemic started, I was at college (University of West Georgia), where students had to get sent back to their homes. With that occurring, that took away from me trying to get my clientele up with selling my lashes. Luckily, I had friends and others that were still in the area that we’re able to buy from me. It did take a few months for me to get rid of my first batch of lashes, but as an entrepreneur you live and you learn. I have learned what I needed to do to make “Diamxnd Minks” pop as a whole, so it has been a great learning experience for me.
Diamxnd Minks – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Diamxnd Minks- “Minks With Bling” is my lash business that is all about standing out with bling. My packaging consists of being sparkly with a diamond shape. I sell 25mm lashes along with lipgloss with every purchase. My lashes are mostly dramatic with a few natural styled ones. I am starting to sell masks and t-shirts with my brand on it. Diamxnd Minks to me is all about the bling, glam and sparkles along with the dramatic, glamorous and fluffy lashes I provide. I am most proud of being able to start my business and have people around me that heavily supports me no matter the circumstances.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment so far is me selling out of my lashes in a timely manner as a first-timer and having to restock. I am also happy that I have loyal customers that come and purchase lashes from me very often.
