Meet Patience Kaysee-Saydee of Kaysee Legal Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patience Kaysee-Saydee.

Patience, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born in Liberia, West Africa and relocated to the United States with my mother at the tender age of eight. I graduated from Florida State University in May 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and International Affairs. I obtained a Juris Doctor degree (JD) from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in May 2014. I have been licensed to practice law in Georgia for six years since 2014. I was previously an associate attorney at a civil law firm in Atlanta, Georgia, from 2015 to 2019. In November 2019, I started my own law firm, Kaysee Legal Group, LLC. I practice civil law, including immigration, real estate, business, family, and probate law. I am also a licensed real estate agent.

As a young mother and wife, my favorite part of working for myself is the flexibility to spend time with my family. I became a solo practitioner because I wanted to be independent and chose my own clients and cases. Working for another attorney exposed me to many areas of the law. It also allowed me to learn about being an entrepreneur. At KLG, I am committed to providing my clients with professional, affordable and transparent legal services with integrity. My life and success is a combination of preparation, hard work and the grace of God. I have turned challenges into learning opportunities by learning from my mistakes and by learning from the mistakes of others.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. But, I never expected it to be smooth. I knew there would be challenges. I’ve learned to work through them. Before becoming a solo practitioner, I prepared mentally and physically. I read books, asked questions and did research until I was comfortable enough to move forward. My biggest obstacle has been accessing to funds to start and maintain my business. I did not have any savings, loans, or grants. I took a leap of faith and moved forward.

Please tell us about Kaysee Legal Group.
I am an attorney and real estate agent. I handle mainly immigration and real estate cases. What sets me apart from other attorneys is that I try to solve as many problems for my clients as possible and advise them on how to prevent future problems. My ultimate goal is to equip clients to make sound legal decisions, avoid unnecessary risks and be prepared for the future. I am most proud when a client is satisfied with my services, whether the fee is $150.00 or $1,500.00. Each client is special to me and I take all cases seriously.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My husband and my mother are and have been my biggest supporters and encouragers. When I first told my husband that I was going out on my own, he immediately said yes with no hesitation. He is basically my personal assistant, office manager, marketing and social media director, etc. he does it all. My mother is my prayer warrior. I tell her my plans and she says ok, everything will work out. I am also surrounded by a number of family, close friends, and even strangers who support and encourage me daily. Last but not least, I have put all my plans and business before God and seek his guidance. So far, he has never failed.
