Meet Kaci Griffin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaci Griffin.

Kaci, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Hello, my name is Kaci Griffin, the CEO of Labor with Kaci LLC. I’m a 30 year old raised in Atlanta, with a beautiful two year old daughter named Lynnex. I am a social butterfly with a great sense of humor who loves educating others on their birthing options. My passion as a birth professional is to create a positive experience for both families, children, and babies. To this end, I have experience and schooling in Social Work, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and a Master’s Degree in Human Services. It is easiest for me to learn and develop professionally when helping others. In my past experiences working with today’s teen mothers and adults, I have tried and succeeded in finding creative ways to keep my clients motivated during the learning process.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey into birthwork I wouldn’t say, has been a smooth road but has been an exciting and eventful road. It takes lots of dedication to be in a field that is life or death. As a Doula, the struggles along the way would be trying my best to help as many families as possible as well as building a Doula community to help aspiring and new Doulas get out in this field so that we can educate others on the importance of Birth work!

We’d love to hear more about your work.
Labor with Kaci is a Doula service that provides support to pregnant people for birth/labor, postpartum and lactation. We also offer Holistic Fertility Services, Placenta Encapsulation, and V-steams (Yoni steams).

LWK is most proud of the support that we have received as the business grows. We have been able to support over 30 families this year. What sets us apart from other Doula business is that our priority is working within the Black community, with low-income, POC, & LGBTQ families. Our goal is to learning and teaches new birthing people the importance of maternal health, breastfeeding, and postpartum depression.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory was on April fools when my mother turned back all the clocks in the home and woke up my sister and I for school. April fools fell on the weekend and my mother had my sister and I standing at the bus stop waiting for a bus that was never going to come. After waiting a while went back home to my mom opening the door saying, “ APRIL FOOLS”.
