Meet Kevin Spiegelman of A.S.K. Exterminators in Canton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Spiegelman.

Kevin, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I began working for a corporate pest control company in 2000. I was fortunate enough to work for a company that has one of the best training programs in the country. At this corporate giant, I learned the ins and outs of the pest and termite business. The training involved required classroom training, outside courses and in the field experience. With this company, I held a variety of management positions.

After working for this company for four years, the opportunity of me going out on my own presented itself.

After leaving this company in December of 2003, I started A.S.K Exterminators, Inc. in March of 2004. Our logo is a monogram for Anne and Kevin Spiegelman. My wife plays a silent role as my cheerleader. Since starting my company, I have grown and continue to grow.

Currently, I am the sole employee with the company. I have had some part-timers in the past. I find being the only employee allows me to maintain quality service for my clients.

Providing great service is very important and is sometimes lacking in today’s service industry.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road to where I am today has not always been a smooth one. Starting a business from scratch, without a salary, is tough! Just because you start a business and do not take a salary does not mean all your bills and obligations go away. My challenge was to build a business that I can provide for my family and meet all my financial obligations.

For many years, in the beginning, it was a struggle. When was I going to be at a point where I can pay myself? The day came and it was great! However, that did not mean the road ahead was a smooth one.

Continuing to build this business is always a tough road. There is so much competition in this market.

Other companies charging peanuts to acquire customers. Weather is a factor when you are on a schedule, trying to make sure your clients are serviced. The season plays a role as to whether or not there is business.

During the winter months, termite and mosquito is not a factor. Basically, there will always be bumps in the road and I must do what I can to overcome, provide quality service and continue to be successful.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with A.S.K. Exterminators – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
A.S.K. Exterminators, Inc. Is a full-service pest, termite and mosquito company. We are licensed and insured. We provide service that meets the needs of our customers.

We cover your general pest issues like ants, spiders, roaches, earwigs, centipedes, millipedes, etc. Additional services for fleas, yellow jackets, German roaches etc. are available for additional fees.

We provide termite service using the liquid treatment or the combination of the baiting and liquid treatment. When treating for termites, we provide a guarantee of the property per the length of the contract and the payment of the annual renewal. Coverage is available for residential and commercial customers.

Mosquito season is April through October. Treatment is usually done once a month. However, more often is available should the client want. Generally, once a month treatment works well and client can enjoy their backyards without having to use sprays on themselves or their children. Mosquito treatment repel mosquitoes from the area.

I am proud to be able to develop solid relationships with my clients. They know they can call me, even during the off hours, and I will respond. Providing service and taking care of my customers is very important.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I plan to continue to grow the business. However, I want to remain small enough so I can continue to provide the quality service my clients have come to expect and deserve.
