Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Wesley.
Lauren, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I got started in the music industry through the media side as a radio host, interviewer, and blogger. As the years went by I decided to dive deeper in the industry and give myself the opportunity to full be me. I’ve always written poetry and music and finally, this year I threw my fears to the side and got started.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Any goal worth reaching has a rough journey but the key is to stay focused and dedicated. Along my path, I’ve encountered struggles both mentally and physically. Sometimes, as any artist, I wonder, is this track/verse good enough? The good part about struggle though, is that it helps develop you and grow.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
As a music artist a strive to stand out as a true entertainer. You won’t ever see me just standing there or even just pacing the floor. I learn Routines, interact with the crowd, and have fun with my people. Some artists need to turn up to get in that mode, but me, I stay sober so my true me can shine. I do cuss in some of my music, but I also like to keep it as clean as possible for my listeners with innocent ears. I want my music to be worldwide and for everyone, no age, gender, or race excluded.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Resiliency is my best characteristic. I can mold to any environment. After that would be my humbleness, of course, I’m confident and know I’m the bomb, but that doesn’t make me better than anyone and I think that is one of the biggest reasons people support me.
