Hi Alicia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
A former corporate climber, I now love to live in a creative space. Representing real women in the media is important to me. I am a mother and living my life in color! Whether designing living spaces that my clients are excited about coming home to or capturing beautiful, edgy, and relatable images that my modeling clients can use to captivate their audiences. My newest endeavor is in the acting community. I’ve enjoyed starring in a few short films and also a full feature film. Learning as much as I can along the way has helped me carry over to the production side of projects. I’ve begun casting, script management, and overall project management for my production group OHits Production House. A family of creatives helping realize the visions of other creatives with the assistance of project development and management.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been obstacles definitely. Stepping into the entertainment world in my 30’s has not been the easiest, with kids in school and working around their schedule has limited my opportunity. That being said, I believe in the power of positivity and the energy you put out. I have a general thought that things are easy and therefore, have been relatively easy. Roles have come my way; partnerships have come my way and have made the transition exciting and pleasant.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about you’re your work?
My main title is interior Designer, in which I work with homeowners for remodels and home builders to create floorplans and selecting materials to fit their budget and taste. As time has gone on, I have added modeling, acting, and production into my resume. My modeling career is more geared towards the boudoir/glamour. I have been published in Model Modele – Shades June 2020 & Epitome – June 2020, also slated to be released in a November 2020 magazine. But my acting is more varied, and I have been able to play everything from a queen pin to a paralegal. I enjoy the process and bring professionalism and the willingness to learn to every project I’m a part of.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My best advice is, don’t let others tell you what lane you should be in. Always push yourself to learn more and evolve in your medium. Don’t be afraid of not knowing something; ask for help.
