Hi Dae, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Since college, one of my close friends would always tell me he could see me doing something with fashion and I needed to start a clothing line. I always knew I could do it. I didn’t have the drive or means to until I moved back home after graduating. I started off doing shoots with my personal photographer, Shotby713. Any outfit I would put together or buy that day would go to various locations and shoot. He would tell me all the time, “Dae, you need to get into fashion.” I ended up just taking a leap of faith and investing in myself and a brand. I had no name, just a brain full of ideas. I ended up coming up with a few pieces and just thinking to myself; this has to work. I just graduated and I’m either on the road to being rich or nothing at all. From that moment, Road to Riche$ LLC was born.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Of course not. I don’t believe anything that’s meant to be successful or great comes with a smooth road. I would say a few of my struggles were starting off where finding the right graphic designers and manufacturers. As of right now, I would say just becoming an established brand is a big struggle for me. Some days I sell pieces, some days I don’t and I’ll be like, should I even be doing this, but nothing great happens overnight.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I create/design pieces that target anybody who is on their way the way to achieving wealth hence the name “Road to Riche$.”
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always creative and outspoken. I was into trends and fashion, such as the latest shoes or clothing, so creating “Road to Riche$” was something that came naturally to me.
