Well, as a teenager on death’s door, God showed me my purpose, entertainment. As a Survivor, I believe there is nothing I can’t do or overcome. I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No, it hasn’t. I had cancer “Hodgkins Lymphoma”to be exact. That was one of my biggest challenges I’ve overcome. I also dealt with challenges when I moved to Atlanta to pursue acting. It was hard not knowing anyone, no friends, no family, no one. I had no idea where to even begin acting, I just knew it was something I wanted to do. That first year though, I was lost. No job, no solid place to really live, no connections, no direction Just unshakeable faith that things would be alright. That first year was tough.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an actor who’s been in a couple of short films. Most recently, I am proud of a short film I acted the lead in called “The Way Home,” put together by a non-profit organization.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My parents (especially my father John Jones where I get all my fortitude from), and my brother Joseph Jones have been my biggest supporters. Especially Joseph, who has been pushing me in the right direction and giving me advice on how to navigate in the acting world for the last two years now. As an actor himself, I really lean on his guidance and direction; he’s my brother but has also been like a mentor. I really appreciate and depend on his guidance and advice. Also the training Ive been able to receive at various Georgia Acting schools have played a big role in the things I’ve been able to accomplish. Special thanks to Catipult, Nick Conti’s Professional Acting School, Dwayne Boyds Premier Actors Network, and Get Scene Studios. Training with these schools have been paramount in my growth as an actor.
