Kasey, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My dad picked up photography a couple of years ago and kept pestering me about giving it a shot and how good he thought I’d be at it. He wanted all of us (his three daughters) to join in and make it a family thing. At the time, I couldn’t be bothered with an extra project so I honestly didn’t start to pick it up until springtime of this year and we’ve been pushing through as much as we could! I’ve learned the camera and how I can capture all of my ideas and have slowly started to build a client base for us. we all play a role in making the business function and I’m so happy to have my family by my side for it all.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It never is. We are new to the game so it is taking us some time to learn how to get clients and to find our style that sets us apart. I think we’ve done a good job so far of building that base and we have so many fun things planned with the hopes it’ll continue to flourish.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Photography is our game! I personally love portraits and couples. being able to capture the spicy and sweet sides to everyone fuels me tremendously and is so much fun to create these images that just capture an audience. I feel as if we have our own style and vision compared to others in our area… giving us an edge that we are trying to perfect.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Always pursue your passion. There will be someone at some moment in time that you will inspire and who will be in awe of your work and will want to help you share it and use it. if you never utilize your talent… it’ll be a waste
