Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Miller.
Mike, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana to the parents of two educators. My father was a primary art educator and athletic basketball and track coach, while my mother was a primary school teacher. I’d like to say my story of becoming what I am today came from those memories of watching them create and share for others to grow from. My father is a multi-talented artist and musician and along with all his endeavors, he gave me an appreciation for music that was priceless. My father sang in the church choir, played the keys and a number of other instruments so I naturally was curious. All of my fathers, equipment was all around the house and I couldn’t help but explore. My mother would challenge me with math workbooks and make me do long word problem math questions. She would always bring computers home each summer vacation and I would literally take it apart trying to record and make music with my two sisters who also have some of the most beautiful voices in the world.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Of course, it’s not been smooth. It’s been worth it. That’s the beautiful part of it. Life allows you to learn as you grow. New experiences allow that opportunity. My struggles were internal. Trying to be someone that I wasn’t—doing things in the industry that went against my morals, ethics and codes. Discipline and consistency is a daily routine that I spend most of my time going through. I noticed the more I focused on that the more successful I personally became.

Born and raised in South Bend, Indiana. Graduated from Indiana Institute of Technology with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration Management 2004. Graduated from Full Sail University 2005 *perfect attendance Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.Multiple Grammy Nominated Award Winning Audio Engineer Patchwerk Staff Engineer 2005-2009. Front of House live sound operator at Mt Carmel Baptist Church in 2014-2017. Pro Tools Certified Engineer (Avid Training) Recording Connection Mentor in 2014.
In 2009, was hired as a personal engineer and production partner for producer/singer-songwriter Sean Garrett who is #5 on the Billboard list of producers with the most number-one records five years.
In 2017, was hired as a personal engineer and production partner for producer/singer-songwriter “The Dream” two years. Has worked on multiple gold and platinum records as a tracking engineer, mixing engineer or production. Audio Instructor at SAE Institute Atlanta 2014.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Honestly, I would of loved to move my entire family to Atlanta and have the business I now run with all of them. I wouldn’t change anything other than that. Everything happens for a reason and because of those reasons I made me stronger than I even thought I was capable of.
