Meet Mitchalene Brown of Pineapple Express Hospitality Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mitchalene Brown.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
With over ten years of industry experience in the service industry, I bring a wealth of knowledge in safely and efficiently operating a food service establishment. I have worked for industry leaders such as Aramark, Compass Group, and Sodexo. My experience is complemented by a Bachelors’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Administration from North Carolina Central University. As a certified Servsafe Instructor and Procter, I have successfully trained and certified industry leaders with a 100% success rating. With great passion, I have provided consultation to restaurants, bars, caterers, and food trucks, increasing health inspection scores by points on average. My goal is to continue to support small startup businesses in their efforts. to safely service guests and grow profitability.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The transition has been very challenging but rewarding this has been a long journey. As an independent business owner, I realized that the people in your life that you think would support you really does not. In the past three years, I have had weeks with multiple client appointments and other weeks, I have none. Once I decided to take a leap of faith and quit my job I always kept a hustle on the side, such as bartending. The bills don’t stop, and I knew I never wanted to go back to corporate America. Having a successful business has been so rewarding because I have worked so hard.

We’ve been impressed with Pineapple Express Hospitality Services, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a Restaurant consultant and I support foodservice establishments in their efforts to safely service guests and grow profitability. I am very proud of my journey because I always said I want to do what the bar rescue guy does for restaurants. I used Servsafe to build my platform because it is a requirement for all food service establishments. Most of my clients call me the Servsafe lady.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Hanging with my best friends it was a group of us and one of them passed away.
