Meet Tashara Jackson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tashara Jackson.

Hi Tashara, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Tashara Jackson and I am ART and by that, I mean I’m not one type of artist specifically but an ARTIST overall. I’m a Jane (Jack) of all trades! I can’t really say how I started but as long as I could remember, I’ve been into art. I started out with drawing and that was anything from PowerPuff Girls to Rugrats to literally anything I felt I could do. Illustration was my escape growing up. My desire for drawing was crazy and from there, it just evolved into anything I could put my hands on. I’m an artist I do various forms of that I do illustration, makeup, paint, etc.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road at all but that’s what makes the finish line worth it, honestly. My struggles were consistency, creative block (brain farts for artists lol), and me. I say me because I am my biggest critic and to top it off with a cherry, I am a Virgo so I am indeed a perfectionist. I want it done correctly or I cannot stamp my name on it I just CANNOT.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Right now, I am growing my make-up business and focusing on my art so I’m working two jobs at once. However, at the moment, I am dedicating more of my time to building my make up brand, I want to continue to build my clientele. Makeup is an art form for me, just like a painting, it’s just a different canvas but for me, it’s not a different field at all for me. What sets me apart is my versatility I have the ability to use my skills from other mediums I know and apply that to my makeup application and I think that’s pretty dope.

So may we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is my family and friends. And I don’t want to give the cliché answer but I guess it’s just apparent as to why …they believe in me they push me and give me the ability to keep going they see something in me sometimes, even when I’m too blind to see it in myself and that makes me want to keep going not only just for myself but for everybody I see that these are people that are waiting to see me win like my desire to.
