Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Coleman.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up in a rural town in Western Kentucky. My parents always worked but they were what would be considered as “working poor”. So we never had discussions about money, investing, etc., because there was no money. Education was the only path that I could see that would help to change my situation. I received a scholarship to the University of Kentucky in mechanical engineering, eventually earning a BSME and then was fortunate to receive an MSME from Georgia Tech through sponsorship of my employer, Union Carbide.
Throughout my professional career, I was fortunate to develop relationships with people who would share financial advice and I took that to heart. Eventually, I would focus on the steps necessary to obtain financial independence (personal cashflow management, elimination of non-productive debt, tax-efficient investing and the creation of multiple streams of income). What I realized through my journey of attaining financial independence was that it is a process that anyone, regardless of their current financial position, can benefit and implement. So I started the Eric D Coleman Financial Group to teach people how to become financially independent and build long-term, sustainable wealth.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We launched this business in June of 2020 in the midst of the pandemic. It was hard because our original strategy was to attract our clients via in-person meetings and seminars. So we had to pivot and embrace social media as a mechanism for promoting our message and attracting clients. In addition, clients were a bit skeptical that their financial situation could be improved regardless of their income level. After all, I was an engineer so things had to be different for me versus what they could achieve. However, for those who decided to take a chance and trust the process that we teach, their financial lives have been transformed. We are working with individuals who make as little as $25,000 per year to individuals who make high six-figures. The method is the same regardless of the position on the financial spectrum. I can also proclaim that not one of the current clients has had to take on a second job in order to meet their obligations and generate positive cash flow.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Financial Literacy and Education empowers generations of individuals to develop financial freedom and build long-term, sustainable wealth. We teach these individuals a proven four-step process that I developed and implemented myself along with the necessary tools and strategies. We piloted this process with multiple individuals across the financial spectrum and at various stages of life.
In every instance thus far, we have helped individuals to build their own personalized plan to financial freedom and we continue to coach them through the implementation of that plan. Our program focuses solely on cash flow generation and management. We effectively teach individuals to manage their personal finances like a business where the generation and allocation of cash is the basic fundamental step in the process. We are extremely proud that not a single client has ever had to take on an additional job in order to meet their basic financial obligations! Our four-step process teaches clients to manage cash, eliminate non-productive debt, build and protect assets, and create multiple streams of income.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I returned to Atlanta because of the progressiveness of the area and the 4.5-hour proximity to my hometown in Kentucky. The traffic here is really crazy, but if you plan your commutes intently, then you can usually avoid some of the gridlocks that tends to exist.
Pricing:
