Today we’d like to introduce you to Ralph and Otis Mobley.
Hi Ralph and Otis, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
We started four years ago in my backyard/garage. It was six of us. We started with just one show/one night on our app. After about a year we had six different shows… that we broadcast to Facebook as well as our app. We began to invest in better equipment… more mics and cameras. After a year and a half, we moved to our very 1st building, adding more shows and more people to our roster, continuing to expand the brand. Two months ago, we moved to our second location and now we have the radio station… DDG studios and Roc Reels videography/photography under one roof.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. It’s tuff to get support as a small business so that would be the biggest struggle but we like to just concentrate on the people that do support us and hopefully, the rest will later.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are a digital radio station… with multiple shows… ranging from gospel shows, comedy shows, a show for the indie artist to shows that touch on different topics, including news and everyday lifestyles.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
First you have to build a team that believes in the vision you have… everyone is not going to see your vision so once you get the right people around you. That play their specific roles well everything else just falls into place.
