Meet Dwight Peebles II of Mathysen Consulting Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dwight Peebles II.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
The catalyst to my story is getting fired from a job I hated. I was driving home after “separating from a horrible situation” and the realization that I had a family at home that I may have let down because I was NOT happy.

On my long drive home back to Henry County, I developed a plan that I would help physicians that were not as profitable as they wanted to be add ancillary tests, and equipment to become more profitable. It was the defect plan until I realized that all things that are profitable are not good for patients. That’s when we changed our focus to diagnostic testing and bracing to help patients with pain management. We felt like this change would help us sleep better at night but also make money to stay afloat.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a tough journey! Sacrifice is the name of the game when starting a business and no one told me (lol). As an owner people think you make a lot of money but the reality is that you have to pay everyone before you take a salary. We had immediate success the first couple months because of support from physicians I had a relationship with. My wife was supportive and carried the family through this time but work became scarce because of changes with healthcare. I decided to revamp the business and add services to help doctors open clinics and get credentialed. It helped and things started to get better but it became hard to balance the work I was excited about doing with the financial responsibility of having 3 kids.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Mathysen Consulting Group – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Now I can offer physicians a personalized plan to help grow clinics or make clinics become more profitable. All things that we implement help physicians better diagnose patients or keep them safe. We also work with banks to get funding for expansions. I’m most proud of my friend and customer Amrish Patel, MD. He has gone from one clinic to four in two years. He has implemented programs in his office to help patients and provide personalized care.

I’m most proud of the work we are able to do in the community and for the areas he practices. Giving back and helping others has become a passion of mine especially in this day and age.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I am lucky because I love what I do and the team we have so the future is bright for us! We have three new clinics we will be opening in the next 2 months and six planned for next year already.

The physicians that bless us with their business are the true treasure and making their dreams a reality is our specialty so as long as we provide them with A+ service and we keep our costs down we should be good for a long time.
