Today, we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Glover. Victoria was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Khadijah Page.
Hi Victoria, we’re so thrilled to have you sharing your story with us today. Maybe we can kick things off by having you introduce yourself to our readers? We’d love to have you go into your story and how you got to where you are today.
Born and raised in Birmingham, AL I’ve always had a passion for pretty. Whether it was makeup, hair, fashion, nails, or photography, if it was anything beauty related, it had my attention. That interest then brought about my passion, Makeup Artistry. My slogan “Embracing the beauty you already possess” is truly what my business is made of and my biggest motivation as an artist. I want my clients to feel beautiful with or without makeup, but their reactions when I finish is what makes the experience all worthwhile. I began this journey July 2018 and thus far this experience has been so fulfilling. I started out working out of my home in Birmingham for a few months before relocating to Nashville, TN in November 2018 where I continued my artistry traveling back and forth. I then met my mentor, Drea Michelle in February 2020. Once I took the MUA course with Drea, I began interning for her at the Drea Michelle Studios which then turned into the home for V Artistry. It’s amazing to be able to work side by side with someone I looked up to as an artist myself so I’m very proud of the direction my career is headed.
Please tell us more about your brand, V Artistry
I try to have a personable relationship with my clients, make them feel excited about whatever occasion their choosing me to get them dolled up for. I try to bring good energy and provide a memorable experience so they’ll always feel comfortable enough to come back. Starting a business was scary for me at first because I had no idea what to do. Luckily, I watched my sister/friend, Khadijah Page, go through the cosmetology program at Paul Mitchell and work her way through the industry to become one of the top hair stylists, my stylist, and it motivated me to explore my own skill. I ran specials, practiced constantly, and pushed my brand to make a name for myself. I’m continuing these same methods now take my business to that next level. This industry definitely requires a great deal of dedication and focus but being persistent has gotten me a long way.
As you know, we’re big fans of Khadijah Page and KPage Hair Studio we know you’ve worked with them quite a bit as well. We’d love to hear about your experience working with Khadijah Page.
I met Khadijah about eleven years ago and she instantly took me under her wing. I watched her grow from school at Paul Mitchell, to working in her first shop, to now owning her own studio and launching her first product, SheKare Hair Growth Oil. She took on many challenges during the process but her work ethic and skills speaks for itself. I only aspire to go as hard as she does. She’s always been tough on me (for good reason lol) but she motivates me and pushes me to be great like no other. She has my hair the healthiest it’s ever been, she has those growing hands. Lol While building this amazing career I watched her raise my wonderful nephew KJ and be super mom, super friend, and super boss all at the same time. So now to be able to work side by side in this beauty world with her while we both follow our dreams and accomplish our goals makes the experience even better. Blood couldn’t make us any closer, she’s truly my sister and one of my best friends.
