Today, we’d like to introduce you to Allan Waite. Allan was introduced to us by Engineered Solution of Georgia’s brand manager, Mandy Carneglia.
Allan, can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Well, I grew up in New England, but went to trade school to focus on carpentry shortly after high school. From there, I worked in new construction and commercial construction – building new roads, digging holes for lakes, things like that. Over time, I got sick of Florida and moved to Georgia, and from there I began to move into waterproofing and then moved into foundation repair. I’ve been in construction my whole life, in foundation repair for over 30 years, and with ESOG since 2009.
Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
I’ve been with ESOG since about 2 years after they opened, and I’ve been here since. In foundation repair, you start in the field doing manual labor and learning the repairs by doing them. I moved from production into a Foundation Repair and Waterproofing Specialist position, going to see homes that needed repair and diagnosing them with the proper solution. At the beginning of this year, I became our Sales Manager, training the new Repair Specialists using my previous years of experience. My favorite part of my work is the satisfaction I get when I see people I’ve trained and that I work with grow through our company. That includes seeing our people go out and implement our process and ethics behind what we do. Especially after being with ESOG for 11 years, I take a lot of pride in seeing how ESOG has grown. In turn, seeing the company thrive means all of our team members thrive, too.
As you know, we’re big fans of Mandy Carneglia and Engineered Solutions of Georgia we know you’ve worked with them quite a bit as well. We’d love to hear about your experience working with Mandy Carneglia.
I have loved my experience with Engineered Solutions of Georgia and look forward to continuing my career with them. I originally learned about ESOG because Jay Eastland, one of the owners, convinced me to come work for them when it was only 5 people. It has been amazing to be a part of this company and to see the core values and ethical approach we began with implemented to every customer we meet in our community, even to this day. We’re not just selling products, we’re truly helping them find permanent solutions for the homes they live in, always keeping their best interest in mind.
On top of the process, we have a great work environment. We have company culture events, holiday celebrations, celebrations of wins – we’re one big family. It sounds cheesy but for us it’s true. It was the same way it is today as it was when there were just a few of us.
