Hi RJ, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Since I was a little kid, I’ve always had a passion for technology and problem-solving. Most of us are familiar with the adults calling us over to help program the remote when we were kids. As annoying as it would be to drop everything and press the power button a thousand times, I still found work like that to be very fulfilling and interesting.
Fast forward to today, now instead of remotes, I’m writing code to program computers to do the most task. I still get that sense of fulfillment when I go into a business and help fix technical problems or securing their network.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Noting in the IT world is a smooth road, whether it’s a learning curve that me or my team has to get over or just simply things not working as they should. However, this is why we choose this kind of work. We enjoy getting over these obstacles so that things will run smoothly.
From a nontechnical aspect, one challenge I had to get over personally was separating myself from the company [TechChup]. Too often do I want to get my hands dirty and do things myself, and it results in a lot of the “business” side of things (quotes, building relationships, seeking out new clients) to be left in the back burner. I had to learn quickly to trust my team to be able to handle a task without me. Things typically seem to get done quicker without me in their way.

TechChup is an information technology service company. We do everything technology, from hardware installations (new server rack, cameras, wireless access points, etc.) to managing businesses’ entire IT infrastructure (making sure your network is updated and secured with the latest cybersecurity best practices).
