Check Out Brigitte Marie’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brigitte Marie.

Brigitte, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My mom purchased my sewing machine when I was in 5th grade. My sewing at that time, was not all good, but I turned my mistakes into original designs, thus began my fashion designing path. As I continued to sew, I got better at creating one-of-a-kind designs. I did a lot of fashion shows around Brooklyn and New York City which propelled my passion for fashion forward. I started to make menswear as well. I relocated to Georgia and did a few fashion shows around Atlanta.

No matter what state or town I’m in, I always have my machines with me. “Sewing is in my DNA”.

I am self-taught, but in 2011, I attended Bauder Fashion College, in 2013 I received my degree in Fashion. I did this to see if what I’ve been doing all along was correct. I added additional skills in sketching, patternmaking and draping. I now own House of CoutureCouture Fashion Designing Studio/Showroom at Arbor Place Mall. Everything in my showroom is designed and handmade by me. My Brand, Brigitte Marie Signature Collection, is for all fashion conscious people. I am presently working on my Children’s Apparel Collection, hoping to drop for Christmas. It will consist of luxury streetwear for kids with lots of denim and cotton fabrics. I am also adding to my men’s wear collection currently. I am a busy bee and I love what I do.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, a wavy one at best. Lots of ups and downs and turnarounds, but all a learning lesson that I take as a blessing. This has helped me to achieve my goals and inspires creativity on every level. I praise God

for the visions he has blessed me with. “I can do All Things through Christ who gives me the Strength”.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I create and design one-of-a-kind detailed pieces. I love to mix and match fabrics to create unique ensembles. I always save my scraps because you never know what ideas may come. I am most proud when I see my designs on someone, and it makes them feel good about themselves. What sets me apart from others is that I pay attention to my client/customer needs and make a sincere attempt to accommodate by adjusting details, so the clothes fit in all the right places.
