Today we’d like to introduce you to Reese Jackson.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My company, Savor Training Company, was established in 2017 and I realized that I wanted more for myself and my legacy. I knew that I offered a single employer way too much value that could be better utilized for the purpose of creating a training company that is able to give many restaurants what I was only able to offer to one. What sets Savor Training Co apart and what I am most proud of is that instead of offering clients a rigid schedule of services, we serve at the convenience of our clients. Traditional learning settings are outdated and we consider ourselves far more gracious and flexible. What has worked for me over the years is utilizing the SCRUM method. I first set aside whatever emotion has me blocked and write down a strategic list of priorities that focus on the urgent and most important tasks. The Savor Training Company story is one of grit. We speak to the ambitious underdog and those who refuse to give up.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Honestly, I don’t know. Whether or not to keep Savor Training Company is a constant decision that I find myself making. It’s like taking a big risk every time and I’m just hoping that I’ll strike gold and win big. Time is always my biggest obstacle but I end up just taking it step by step, day by day. My mantra is “Play to your strengths, Reese.” No matter what, go with and trust your gut.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a coach for restaurant managers and owners. I help them identify areas of weakness in their operation and correct them using practical strategies that are time-tested. My specialty is in food safety. I am certified to teach the ServSafe Course and Proctor the exam. I travel to clients all over the country and help them not only get certified in food safety management but also to help them put their physical restaurant in order as it states in the local food code.
I am proud to be a small business that cares about each client’s success, I love having a personal relationship with each and every client. If you own a food-based business just now that I don’t succeed if you do not succeed.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I am very hands-on. I am the one answering the phone, responding to emails and text messages. I do have a support team but I choose to spend all of my time with my clients on purpose.
