Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Lenis.
Hi Anna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Anna Lenis and I was born and raised in Caracas Venezuela. I have a passion for baking and creating edible art. Our business started in Atlanta in 2010 baking the traditional Venezuelan Christmas bread called “Pan de Jamón”; and so on with cakes, desserts and much more. Today I specialize in custom cakes and all kinds of sweets.
Aroma Desserts is a family business, we work hard to create unique cakes, not only in sight but also delicious.
Almost all sugar toppers and decorations are sculpted and hand-painted, and some of these more detailed toppers will take many hours and days to create.
I am always ready to create, invent and experiment, it is an essential part of the baking industry and the kitchen itself!
We have participated in local bazaars, important seminars such as the Atlanta Sweet Fest Con and the Ultímate Sugar Show, we have also had the opportunity to be a part as a sponsor in different events within the Hispanic community in Atlanta.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
You have to prepare, learn, educate and train yourself to learn every day and become the best. Practice, willing and perseverance is the key to succeed in your goals!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a cake artist! And I do edible art! I recreate on a cake the ideas my clients want for an edible masterpiece that will be the center of their event! When you are able to do what you love and you are passionate about it, the results are amazing and beautiful!
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Life is challenging but it is beautiful and we have to appreciate what we have. We have to be grateful for every single day we are able to wake up and do what we love. Be happy, positive, a good human, and take advantage of the opportunities we encounter every day. We only can enjoy the present, we don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow!
