Check Out Kei Moore’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kei Moore.

Hi Kei, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My whole life has been a creative one. My surroundings, my community, and the love it all brings to me. I’ve learned to take control of my creativity in ways that allow me to work joyously and continue to grow. I’m always moving forward. That’s how I got to where I am; with the love of my work. I organize and plan to do my best.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road is a rough one, and it’s full of challenges and roadblocks that are meant to teach us lessons that must be learned. I have met my maker, time and time again. I’ve survived everything I thought I wouldn’t, and it’s only helped me to keep going. That’s where the magic happens.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a filmmaker. I make visual art; not knowing that this is where my years of illustration, writing and design would put me. I love it here. Film directing and producing is where my favorite art comes together. Filmmaking is where my creative voice is to be heard. My company TILTvisual(@tiltvisual) is an inclusive visual production company. My business partner and I take pride in producing work that serves as a representation for marginalized people. Fiction and non-fiction alike. We currently make short films, experimental and thrilling work. We hope to make our first feature very soon with the right support.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
The pandemic has taught me even more the value of community and communicating your needs with those who love and support you. We need unity more than anything in this world. Division is meant to make us weaker and hopeless. We are much stronger than the system has led us to believe. Find peace and love, and commit to it all.
