Meet Tuesday Knight of Push Publicity

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tuesday Knight.

Tuesday, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
So boom, a little over four years ago, I dove headfirst into my spiritual journey into the tradition of Ifa, and I was told during a reading that I needed to wear waistbeads. I started searching online and found that 1) the vendors that I found didn’t give me “spiritually rooted” vibes, 2) the prices were astronomical and 3) there really weren’t many options for what I needed.

In our tradition, we do ALOT of beading so I thought “well, maybe I can do this myself” and my godsister showed me a method that allows you to capitalize on time and efficiency, and I’ve successfully made my first set of gold and yellow and solid white waistbeads.

From there, my friends were my guinea pigs so I just used them as models, posted pictures, and posted up at virtually every pop-up shop in my city. Now, I’m the “waistbead lady”. *curtsies*

This was 2018.

Next, I began selling mainly on Facebook. I created a Facebook Business page and connected our Instagram and business was off to a slow creep. I was just getting my design brain flowing and it took me a while to build up my niche, but when COVID-19 had us shut down in March 2020, my business BOOMED. It was a great year in business for us, especially to be selling 95% waistbeads.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been an interesting road. Never in my rebellious dreams did I ever think I would get a degree to ultimately make…wait for it…waistbeads. But this is what I do, and I am able to go into a deeper connection with women to assist in any spiritual or personal concerns. It helps to have someone who is knowledgeable and grounded in their truth in order to ensure the transference of intentions is done with ease.

Financially, I’ve been able to garner grants and other resources through the pandemic to keep things afloat, but I have still yet to truly profit from the business.

I thought it would make it hard to transition to not being around people because of COVID but it was an effortless switch because people were home and did not want to leave anyways. Shipping was bae.

Other than that, there have been other small hiccups but nothing that’ll keep a real one down.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about PUSH Publicity Inc.?

What were you like growing up?
Growing up as a young Queen, I was active. I was consistently into, enrolled in, or a participant of some kind of sport, activity or club that allowed me to stay involved and social. I was always the center of the circle but I hung out with everyone’s crew. I connected with everyone and truly just loved people.

Honestly, I never truly met a stranger but I also had a few insecurities that surfaced into my teenage years. I grew up without my father present in my development into a young woman so I lacked and searched for a lot of balance and love that would come from him. My mother raised me by herself and always treated me like a young lady so I was always more mature than my peers.

I spent a lot of time expressing myself creatively so I was involved in theatre, chorus, band, AFJROTC, cheerleading, community service clubs and anything that would allow me to dream forward and build the life I desired. I was almost too connected with my feelings (many will say I am ahead of my time) and was always a talker. Still love to talk. And got into a lot of trouble doing so in school.

I was always writing. I am a poet first, so I spent a lot of my youth journaling and writing poetry. I started my first journal at seven and published my first poetry book in 2012 called “Poetry Without Walls” (available for purchase at TuesdayKnightWrites.com or WaistMeKnot.com).

Now folks pay me to talk. Go figure.
