Life & Work with Anastacia Jordan of Atlanta, GA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anastacia Jordan.

Hi Anastacia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my first restaurant job in 2014 after moving back home from Montgomery, AL where I started my college career.. I was working at an upscale restaurant in the heart of Atlanta as a hostess greeting and seating tables. One day I was discussing my finances with a server and he express to me I should consider becoming a server assistant to learn the menu and drinks. The job did not work out and I began working at hooters downtown Atlanta as a hostess and shortly after became a server thanks to one of my best friends from high school . One of my managers express how great my work ethic was and my customer service skills and ask me to become a trainer for new hires. About a year later I moved up to a bartender and it was the best decision for me financially and personally. When getting ready for work I was always excited to go. Working in a restaurant help me get through college with the flexible hours and great tips. A year before graduating with my Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies I took a job offer in the school system as a Paraprofessional in hopes to become a teacher. Upon graduation I took my first teaching job as an ESL teacher for adults. After working both jobs I woke up one day and decided to quit my “9-5” job. For two years I worked at a few different restaurants bartending and serving and during the pandemic I asked myself “Anna what truly makes you happy? What do you think your good at? What could you see yourself doing for an occupation but can enjoy it?” Immediately bartending came to mind and I brainstormed for about six months and with all the help of my husband, family, friends, and associates I build the courage to launch Top Tier Bartending Company.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The road has been a bumpy road but it has been well worth it. After I quit my “9-5” I felt as if I let my parents and family down and I was not utilizing the degree we spent so much money on. I was unhappy, confused, and did not know what to do. I started putting myself first and what made me happy. I stop trying to please everyone and focused on ME. My finances were up and down and I almost gave up with creating a career and life for myself that would please me all around.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I provide Mobile Bartending Services for any event! A few examples are private parties, birthday parties, baby showers, corporate events, and more. I specialize in creating an unique and fun experience for each of my clients. Each client has the opportunity to have a signature cocktail menu to fit their desire theme and bar decor. We create everything down to the fruit garnishes and glassware to fit each clients needs. I am know for my amazing Top Tier Cocktails. I am most proud of myself stepping out of my comfort zone and believing I can do whatever I put my mind too. I am proud of the women I’ve become and grown into with my business and personal life. I believe my product knowledge, my work experience, and creativity set me apart from others.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My advice to others starting out is to never compare what you see someone else doing or how much they are making. Yes, you can be encouraged and motivated by others but do not compare your journey to others. Everyone’s journey is different and path is align to that specific person. I wish I knew about business credit, business accounts, and marketing strategies.
