Today we’d like to introduce you to Brave Entertainment. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Brave Entertainment was an idea that we shared with each other in 2014 after having being in the music scene for so long and being creatives all our lives. Literally singing for over 25 years, we Raven stevens and Britney Hughes founded brave entertainment to capitalize on our experience as musicians and creatives.
We began brave entertainment by promoting and hosting live music events to give ourselves as well as others a safe space and outlet to freely and fully be ourselves as creatives. That outlet, later coined “The Session” became the premiere place to be in the area. Partnering with the international R&B artist Tweet. The session brought a culmination of gifted artists and musicians the ideal platform to showcase their artistic abilities. We also featured some of r&bs greatest independent artists such as Ricco Barrino, Myke Grizzly, Samoht, Micki Miller, Tou, Brik Liam, Chontae Cann, Stout, The Hamiltones and Blanche J.
Brave Entertainment is twofold. Not only are we a business but out of Brave Entertainment the company derived Brave the Artist. We are artist and we’ve been fortunate enough to write and produce our own music. Music that is a reflection of who we are; soulful and “Churchy”. We’ve release 4 singles; Warfare, Saturn Love, wish Your love and familiar. All of which are available on all digital media outlets.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
As the saying goes, “nothing worth having ever comes easy” so we have definitely had our share of struggles.
Being able to build confidence while establishing who we are as artists all while being independent artists is challenging!
You really have to get creative in finding ways to fund everything and find balance between running a business, being an artist and working your full-time job.
In the midst of juggling those responsibilities, Covid happened, but we were able to start Couch Sessions from our home as a way to stay connected with our fanbase. Through our online presence, we were able to keep the momentum of our life experiences by releasing biweekly videos singing some fan favorites. We even hosted an intimate Valentine’s event called “Self-love & Happiness”.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Brave Entertainment is an conglomerate of things. We provide, promote and carry out every entity that falls under the umbrella of music fine arts and entertainment. To include event hosting, entertainment outsourcing, live performances and live/studio background vocals.
We’re curators. We are creatives, singers and songwriters. We are grateful to be two black women who are self-sufficient. Having the ability to write, produce and promote our own music.
Being that brave entertainment covers so much ground it allows us access to many rooms. This is also what sets us apart from others.
How do you define success?
The name BRAVE is not just merely a word but a lifestyle. “I am Brave” is an act and attitude of freedom; We believe success is doing what you love in the presence of fear.
Success is also what you define it to be. It’s subjective to the individual. It’s an inner feeling. Being able to do whatever your heart desire fully and freely.
