Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Miller.
Hi Sarah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My career in Real Estate started in late 2016. I decided that working for someone else was no longer what I wanted to do. An opportunity presented itself to get my real estate license and I jumped at it. Changing my career at 36 was a big deal. I was recently divorced and was the sole provider for my household with my son.
The excitement of being an entrepreneur also brought a little fear to work through. In 2017, with the support of my family and joining the Ben Kinney Real Estate Team in Keller Williams, I was able to start selling homes quickly and start down the path towards success.
In 2020, I helped 25 families buy or sell their homes and it was my best year to date. I am continuing to grow my business steadily, meeting more people and helping to accomplish our mission of “Delivering the Dream of Homeownership Everywhere.”
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to my steady growth in real estate hasn’t been easy but also has been about consistency and persistence. The struggles in the first two years are really just part of the process in starting a new business venture or sales career.
When you are self-employed, your work ethic and drive is in your hands. If you don’t work or do the activities, you don’t eat. My decision to join a team was strategic and also the best choice for me. They provided a proven system for success to generate leads, to meet clients and close transactions. This was helpful to me. I followed a guided plan to reach my goals year over year.
In life, there are always struggles, both internal and external. I experience a few along the way but I take them in stride. I have great teammates, friends and family around me and their support pushes me constantly.
As you know, we’re big fans of The Ben Kinney Team at Keller Williams Realty. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
The Ben Kinney Team is a large organization within Keller Williams. We have teams all over the U.S., in Canada and Europe. The team in Atlanta formed in 2017 as an extension of this national group. In 2020, we grew to be even larger merging with another top organization in Keller Williams to form Place, Inc.
Place, Inc. is one of the largest networks of agents and teams working together to provide a streamline of services and a high-quality experience to our clients.
I am always proud of company’s continued mission “Delivering the Dream of Homeownership Everywhere.” Our leaders teach us the value of building wealth through real estate along with making smart financial decisions and we pass that on to the clients we work with. Our goal is to provide the buyers and sellers that work with us a positive customer experience and stellar service. My team is set apart by our Teamwork, Track Record, Transparency inCommunication and the Marketing.
The effect of being part of my team with a track record of service and success has been very important to my growth as a Realtor. We are constantly being challenged to be better leaders and industry professionals. Our success is translated into the way we work on behalf of our clients and their success is our success.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t actually believe in luck. I have faith in God. I am a Christian. I believe you reap what you sow. I believe that things happen for a reason and all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to his purpose.
So in my life and in my business, I believe that my faith is the driving force. When bad things happen, I trust God and when good things happen, I trust God. Having strong faith has built-in me perseverance which is constantly needed.
I believe I am walking in my purpose and my passion and yet there is still a bigger work for me to do in life. Real Estate is one of the avenues that will help support this greater work. I am grateful for being able to wake up every day and do something I love.
