Meet Lucits Dean of Mobile Event Venues of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucits Dean.

Hi Lucits, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I first visited Atlanta in 2014. From the very beginning, I was in awe. So many people working, hustling, and networking in such a way I had not seen before. It wasn’t until I got divorced in 2020 that Atlanta became a reality for me. I already owned an event space in Houston, so the plan was to open one here as well. I sold my house and set eyes for ATL. My friends and family surprised me with a going-away party. What they didn’t know is after selling my home, I had nowhere to go in Atlanta. I ended up staying at a hotel until I was able to stay with a friend for a while before settling in Buckhead.

After failing to find and open my second event space, I sat in the bed one night and the ideas just started coming to me. I jotted them down in my notes and put everything that I wanted to see in a party bus. I wanted it to be girly and fun, but also pay tribute to my hometown. When I was finished it didn’t seem like a “party bus” it was a venue. It was the venue I was supposed have just mobile. Hence the name: Mobile Event Venues of Atlanta. I plan to have a couple more Mobile Venues here and branch out to my hometown before opening franchises.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road was not easy. When I attempted to find space for my venue, the Atlanta real estate market was then and even more now a tough place to be. Each space was twice what I paid in Houston, and was being bought right from under me. Finally, I found a commercial property over my budget but not so much that I wouldn’t be able to live. Only issue was that it would cost $50,000 to renovate and $3,000 per month in rent. I asked myself if I wanted to put $50K in someone else’s building and still pay $3K a month to them. I didn’t.

Sometimes you just have to do it. Believe in yourself and if you can’t believe in yourself, believe that whatever is supposed to happen… Will.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Mobile Event Venues of Atlanta?

What was your favorite childhood memory?
I went through a phase in High School where I wore pink every day. My entire sophomore year. My room was pink, clothes and accessories were pink, I would even wear pink flowers in my hair like Billie Holiday. It was such a thing for me that people just began calling me Ms. Pink! Although my favorite color is Brown now; I suppose when I’m feeling young and feminine at heart, Pink is my go-to.
