Today we’d like to introduce you to Creighton and Shirley Collier.
Creighton has over twenty years’ experience as an ASE certified diesel mechanic. Shirley has over twenty years in collateral insurance.
Creighton had a friend that was already in the business, He maintain his fleet and was asked by his driver to ride with him. His driver trained him in towing vehicles. After being trained, he was asked to do some calls when he was short of driver. Once he was in the truck towing, he enjoyed doing it. He made some suggestions about the business unfortunately his friend ended up closing the business.
He started the business based off of these basic principles professionalism, punctual and honesty. These are some things they saw their competitors are not doing consistently. Professionalism meaning for Collier towing is drivers presenting themselves in a professional way in appearance, knowledgeable about their job. Punctual meaning adequate estimate time of arrival correctly given to their customers. Honesty to their customers when it comes to given eta times and professional opinion. When given these principle they think their customer can and will appreciate their service.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road was not a smooth road. One of our biggest challenge are when hiring employees getting them to uphold you company basic principles on a constant base, The obstacles of finding the employees that is a perfect fit is very challenging. We maintain this by doing extensive back ground, reference and employer checks. By being so critical we have been able to maintain and A plus rating with the Better Business Bureau.
Please tell us about Collier Towing.
Our company is an NMSDC certified company in the Atlanta Metro Area. We are the only minority certified company in the state of Georgia as of July 2016.
We specialize in fleet towing. Fleet towing is a service that we provide our customers with a truck or trucks at or close to their facility that is dedicated to them. When our customer call us we have a quick turnaround time so that their employees break down time is little as possible, We are able to bring them one so there spare vehicle to them to keep the employee productive for their company and bring the disable vehicle back to maintenance facility. This in return helps our customer image because it limits the time other potential customers seeing their vehicle on side of the road.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My childhood memory is the times my parents took us to the mountains for vacation. We went there not knowing what to expect, When looking over the tree line from the top of the mountain makes you realize how far the altitude you are at. This made me realize how fare I had come and how fare I can go.
