Check Out Candi Miller’s Story | Staging+Design

Today we’d like to introduce you to Candi Miller.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I began Candi Miller STAGING+DESIGN in 2013, a full-service company in Atlanta, specializing in Interior Redesign, Occupied Home Staging,  and Interior/Exterior Color Consultations. After working in the wine industry for 20 years, I was ready for a change and pursued my love of design. I began taking courses and was certified by “The Decorator Guild” in home staging and redesign in 2014 and then in interior and exterior color consultations in 2015.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have to say that it has been a wonderful experience and life change for me. I have been able to spend more of my time with my family. My kids are heading to high school and it is very important for me to be accessible to them, while also keeping myself active in my community.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I love what I do! My business allows me so many wonderful opportunities. I meet new people all the time and I love helping my clients love where they live. Every aspect of my business gives me the opportunity to be creative with my work, whether it is giving my client a new up-to-date look or solving organization issues. Home staging is where it all began for me, and I love working alongside realtors getting homes ready for sale. Home staging is design but for moving rather than staying. Most of the time, clients wish they were staying because of the changes we make. They will end up bringing me into their new home to give it that same clean, fresh feeling.

Every client is unique, every client has a different situation, and every client has a different need. It’s important to recognize that and listen to what their needs are. I’m compassionate and try to relate somehow to each client specifically. When I really listen to them, I can see them exhaling a little. That’s a great feeling!

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I continue to take online courses to help me keep up with trends, colors, and fresh ideas to take to my clients. I’ve been listening to a lot of strong women podcasts like Oprah, Brene Brown and Glennon Doyle. They guide me in staying grounded and being a strong woman. It’s really inspiring to hear others’ stories and then relate it to your own. I’m very thankful for my community of friends and colleagues. It helps me in my work as well as my home.
