Meet Leslie Villanueva

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leslie Villanueva.

Hi Leslie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started doing online influencing professionally for the past two years. However, I always had a full time job which prevented me from being able to put 100% into my page. I moved to Georgia 10 months ago and have been able to focus on being a micro influencer for the past couple of months. I love all things beauty, health & wellness, and lifestyle. My goal is to be able to inspire others to be true to who they are and love themselves. I want to help motivate others to never give up and continue on the path that they are most passionate about. I’ve worked with major brands and I’m currently working on starting up an online business.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest struggles of becoming an online personality is realizing that you won’t always get the support you are looking for. At times, I’ve gotten discouraged from doing what I love because I was too worried about what others might think of me. Now, I’ve grown to realize that the only opinion that should matter about me, is my own.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a micro influencer on Instagram that has worked with major Beauty brands in the past and currently. My focus for my account was always beauty related but made me occasionally feel too restricted. Within the past couple of months, I’ve been able to branch out to other areas like lifestyle & health/fitness. I feel it’s important to be able to share all of your passions with your audience so that they’ll be able to relate to you easily. I’m proud of being a part of companies who believe in my art & continue to support me. I believe I stand out in the area because I’m a proud Mexican-American woman who always speaks her mind & stands up for what she believes is right

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My biggest advice for someone who is just starting is simple…

1. BE YOURSELF.
2. DON’T WORRY ABOUT OTHERS’ OPINIONS.
3. DO IT FOR YOURSELF.

I wish that when I first started, I wasn’t as shy to do what I love because of fear of other people’s opinions. I always held out and never let my full potential shine through because I was afraid others would laugh at me for wanting to be an “influencer.”
