Brittany, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Craving success, after finishing grad school I left Charlotte, NC and moved to Atlanta, GA to focus on my passion. As a young girl I use to watch my aunts get dolled up for different occasions and finishing their looks with a pair of shades to complete their outfits. That is when I knew that creating my own footsteps in the fashion industry and starting my own business would eventually be my ultimate goal. While working in a major department store, my eagerness grew to create a brand to call my own. In 2018, I established Shade911 to give trendsetting women a must have eye-wear collection for an affordable price. Creating my own lane in this industry I have established customers from coast to coast. I have also given women across the world a reason to crave eye-wear as a finishing touch to their daily wardrobe. Now I am in the process of manufacturing my own sunglasses to fit the demand of my customers. It has definitely been a process but I’m excited for what’s to come!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road to success. Some challenges that I have faced as a business owner in the beginning was knowing my target market and understanding their needs as customers. I also had to learn that there will be good days and there will also be challenging days, but it is solely up to me to keep going because Shade911 is my backup plan!. I had to learn to be self-motivated and know that if I am putting in work everyday, that there is no way that my business will fell. Also, learning that in business you are forever a student, there is always something to learn. Being a business owner you have to know that you will take losses in your business, but instead of looking at it as a loss look at it as a lesson learned and turn it into a strength. I know that my business will be worth millions one day because I am willing to build lifetime relationships with my customers and to continuously re-invest..

Shade911, LLC is an e-commerce eye-wear brand that focuses on providing affordable everyday eye-wear accessories to on-trend women. Owned, and operated by Brittany, with the vision that Shade911 will reach local and national markets and eventually become a global lifestyle brand. Building Shade911 from the ground up, starting with just 5 styles of shades, through hard work, dedication and consistency, over the course of 3.5 years we have evolved into a full eye-wear brand for women. What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I believe that one of my top qualities as a business owner is providing exceptional customer service. When customers know that they can trust your business they will continue to shop with you and that is how loyalty is formed.
