Meet Jeremy Sanders of S & S Moving Professionals

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Sanders.

Hi Jeremy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My wife and I moved to Atlanta back in late 2017. When we arrived I started working for a moving company in Alpharetta. I was relocated to a location in Atlanta that was ran by a younger black male. His operation has us not only doing local moves but also long distance moves. We traveled to Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, The Carolinas, pretty much the entire southeast region. This is where I gained most of knowledge. Prior to this, I had absolutely no experience with professional moving at all. From there I learned a lot. I was interested in owning something of my own, so I was able to get pretty close to younger guy who running things at the time. We had long conversations about the industry and what all running a business entitled. After literally just a few months, not even a entire 90 days, with the bare minimum of experience, I said to myself “I think I can do this on my own”! And literally left without any notice and did it! It happened literally just like that!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Has it been a smooth road?! How I can say this the easiest way possible? He** No!!! Getting adjusted to Atlanta coming from a small city like Albany, Ga. is a separate interview all in it’s own and trying to start a business with no money saved at all! Man! Words can even describe. We lost EVERYTHING within the first year of moving here, trying to chase a dream. Luckily, with my amazing wife rooting for me the entire time, God, and a few good friends. We made it through! The biggest challenge for me, honestly was getting out of my own way. Doubting myself, fear of failure, building more healthy habits, becoming more discipline, taking a more serious leadership role. I personally had to become a completely different person from what I was use to!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We are one of Atlanta’s premier moving companies. Not only do we service Atlanta and metro areas but out of states moves also. We provide full service moves. Which means we wrap, pack, disassemble, load, unload, and reassemble! What sets us apart from a lot of other moving companies is our customer service. Prior to business, I have an extensive resume in customer service and sales. The biggest thing I love to tell my crews is “treat our clients belongings like you are moving your grandma”! You not breaking or damaging any of grandma’s things and most going above and beyond. What I am most of proud about the company is definitely my crews, some of my guys have been with me the entire time and I never forget to let them know how much I appreciate them. No one is moving all on their own, it’s definitely a team effort. That goes for both sides, the client and the service providers.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
To narrow it down to just one is, I can not do this on my own! Love and appreciate those people, love and appreciate you.
