Meet Reggie “Maestro” Hubbard of Maestro Images

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reggie “Maestro” Hubbard.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started photography 3 years ago as a means to have something therapeutic in my life. Being active military and law enforcement at that time came with their constant burdens. I always wanted to get into photography but never made a decision to actually do it. So on July 9, 2018, I purchased my first DSLR camera and began snapping away. I would take pictures of EVERYTHING I could!

In the beginning, a close friend of mine Arsenio and I would meet up as much as possible at a park or in the city just to ask people if we could take free photos of them. Of course, we told them we were just starting out and wanted to gain experience and they would receive a nice photo of themselves free of charge. It was a win-win!

Over the next few years, people started to notice my photos and began to spread the word about Maestro Images. I was fortunate to be featured in Forbes Magazine NYC, FOX, NBC, CBS, and many more publications across the nation.

Maestro Images opened its first commercial location in October 2020 located in Snellville, GA and plans to open multiple locations in the near future.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would be dishonest if I said I haven’t had any rough patches in our journey yet. The biggest obstacles that I have faced were pushing through the COVID shutdown. Like I mention before, we opened our studio in the middle of the pandemic so that speaks for itself.

The second biggest obstacle I faced was the transition from being freelance/amateur to professional photographer. People got used to my photography being free because I was building my portfolio and didn’t see the value in my work enough to pay for my services. So navigating through that transition was difficult but eventually, my work and experience demanded compensation and people didn’t have an issue paying. I had created a system and consistency in my portfolio that made my audience see value in my work.

We’ve been impressed with Maestro Images, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Maestro Images, we specialize in headshot/model photography. “People may never remember what you say to them, but they will always remember how you made them feel and how they experienced you.” This means EVERYTHING to me and is the pillar of the MA3STRO Images culture. I take pride in taking care of my people (clients, family, and friends) and their people.

What sets us apart is our culture and the people within it.

We are proud to have been featured in major publications such as Forbes Magazine NYC, FOX, NBC, CBS and many more. Also to have worked and collaborated with numerous celebrities and influencers.

We are a company that cares about your product and your pockets. We have very affordable portfolio building options for models/actors who want to build a portfolio but may be tight on funds.

What matters most to you? Why?
People matter to me most because people are important! How my clients experience Maestro Images is EVERYTHING! I am more relational than transactional and represent Maestro Images in that light. If we can make something work that is a win-win we will do what we can to make it happen.
