Conversations with Taylor Myles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Myles.

Hi Taylor, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my journey in 2018 after realizing college was not the right path for me. I’ve always had a passion for the beauty industry and that led me to enroll into Paul Mitchell hair school in 2018 and graduate in 2019. My independent journey wasn’t ideal at first. I struggled with the idea of stepping out on faith and becoming my own boss. I started to take appointments out of my apartment to get the business going. After doing that, I eventually quit my 9-5 to pursue my dreams full time. With no set clientele, and a small following on social media I joined a beauty shop in Greenville, SC at the beginning of 2020. As I grew in the city of Greenville, so did my social media following. After a year in Greenville, I decided to move to Atlanta, Georgia to expand my business/brand even more. I’ve been extremely blessed to get this far, and by the grace of God this is only the beginning!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
My main struggle was putting all my faith in God to leave my job and become a full time hairstylist. I had many aspirations and knew that I was capable of accomplishing my dreams. I was blinded by fear at first, but I took a leap of faith and God has been taking care of me ever since. He’s supplied me with a talent that I want to use to fulfill His purpose for my life.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work as a full time hairstylist and content creator. I’m a pro braider that specializes in protective styles and the care for hair. I’m well known for the precision and neatness of my knotless braids. Not only does consistency with my braids set me apart, but my creative expression on social media also draws attention. With social media I am able to let others be involved with my expression of art through my braids, my comedic personality, and my business savvy mindset.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Pursue your passion NOW! You don’t have to be at a certain point in your life to do what you love. It doesn’t matter your age, the amount of money you have, or where you are in life. When you have faith in God and you allow Him to use your talent for His purpose then success becomes inevitable!
