Meet Marcus Alland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Alland.

Hi Marcus, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
It mainly started at the age of 14. My older brother was the one that got me into music production out of interest. Then by the age of 16 is when I wanted to write raps and put both skills together.

What began as a mere hobby turned into a passion and a career choice. Growing up I used to play drums in church located in Washington D.C. It aided in my choice to do music full time while working a 9-5.

I was always taught to take risks and believe in myself to the fullest and soon enough my dreams will come true. So to this day, I apply what I’ve learned and I am still willing to learn as much as I can to be the best artist I can be.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’d say the road definitely has its challenges. The biggest one being patience. In this kind of industry, most of the time you have to be willing to be patient for things and opportunities to happen.

A lot of them won’t happen when you want them to. So in the meantime, I would keep myself busy to refrain my mental from dwelling on it for too long.

Another obstacle would be the financial struggles. As an independent artist working a 9-5, you don’t get to go all out on certain projects or things based on the finances you earn. Especially depending on the occupation you currently have. So it can be tough and discouraging but I believe in God, myself, and the bigger picture.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a music artist, producer, and songwriter. I specialize as an artist the most because I love being able express myself as an artist the way I truly want to.

I’m definitely known and proud to be an artist but what sets me apart from others is my positivity and my ability to connect with my audience through my musical content. I’ve been told a lot that my music have messages that people can receive from.

Whether it be a club banger or a conscious record, I try to put something in there that people can take from it.

Any big plans?
My plans for the future is honestly to continue to create more music, grow my audience/fan base, do a lot more performing, and gain more recognition within the industry.

It may seem small to some but for me, as an indie artist, it’s something I’m willing to strive for. Because ultimately I want my music career to take care of everything in my life personally and professionally.
