Today we’d like to introduce you to SoQi Music.
Hi SoQi, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
This has been a dream of mine for quite some time. I began writing this play in 2012 during a tremendously rough time in my life. It was a dream I thought could never come true due to hard times, being a wife, a mother, lack of finances and worst of all… fear.
Later on, in 2016 I decided I would make my passion a full-time career. I have 8 children … but boldly left my job to live a dream that has encouraged me to focus on the salvation of others through my writing and entertainment.
Though I felt torn from the love and dream of music during those times, I found hope in an alternate gift and talent through ministry in church. At this point I discovered a love in acting, writing and creating as a playwright. Prior to the pandemic, I was able to present my very own stage production titled “Deliver Our Male” at a few theatres around town. Each stage production led to an invitation to write music for what was to become a soundtrack. This eventually reignited a spark for the desire to once again write, create and produce music. I found myself along with my children sharing music with capacity crowds at events and festivals.
My songs have been added to multiple streaming platforms such as, YouTube, iHeart radio, iTunes, apple music, Deezer, Spotify, Amazon etc. My first single “Free To Be Me” has made number one on the charts of local digital radio stations. A reminder to those who’ve been naturally or spiritually trapped, that you are free to be who you are in Christ. That nothing and no one can stop you from being who God has called you to be. It is a message that echoes throughout SoQi’s life that has inspired many around the globe.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Raising a large family, pursuing goals dreams and aspirations can pose as a challenge. Maintaining school, business projects and personal schedules really send challenges. Putting aside the thought that Moms no longer have opportunities to make dreams reality, can be an obstacle by simply making sure all needs of the family is met while focused on goals and success.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am most proud of my family. I am an only child who wound up having 8 children of my own. My children push me regularly to keep going. My husband stands behind me 100% of everything I do concerning my career. I specialize in writing. I write music/songs, plays, movies, books, poetry, sermons etc. Currently creating an online course teaching acting and writing. Expected to launch in 2022.
I’m known for my creativity and my smile.

Using wisdom, I believe life doesn’t happen without taking risks.
