Rising Stars: Meet Cassie Cope

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassie Cope.

Hi Cassie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
From a very young age, I always knew that I would eventually start my own business. I had no idea what, when, where, or how, but the fire that I had in me was burning at all times. All I knew at the time was that I wanted to help people and make a difference. I hadn’t found my “purpose” yet and knew that if I remained open to my path that it would find me. I was always very creative, a little disruptive, and a problem solver. My time at Kennesaw State University, where I graduated with a degree in marketing. was really where my passion for entrepreneurship blossomed. After graduating, I found myself quickly excelling in the corporate world and began working with premier entertainment brands, celebrity clients, professional sports leagues, national acts, and the top media outlets in the US. As a Director of Marketing, I learned so much about what it took to be a leader and what it takes to run a multi-million dollar company. Career-wise, I felt like this was my prime, but personally, it was some of the darkest times of my life.

Simultaneously, I went through a horrific stent of domestic abuse that almost ended my life. Fortunately, I was able to find the right resources and community to leave the situation safely, and my life from that point changed forever. Escaping this situation gave me a new perspective on life. I was given a second chance and a new start to life. I wanted to take full advantage of the opportunity. Ultimately, I had found the purpose I was looking for. The pain that I had overcome led me to my purpose. By surviving domestic abuse, I felt sound that my purpose was to share my experience to empower other women recovering from similar situations. I began making a plan to leave my current company to pursue a female-driven mission to ignite a community of female entrepreneurs who needed support stepping into their power. But at this time I was far too scared to leave my flashy high-level job for a dream.

In March of 2020, as mass layoffs swept the globe our department was one of them. It was such a scary time and I honestly didn’t know what was going to happen. All I knew was that this was the universe giving me the push that I wasn’t ready to take myself. Just after 24 hours of receiving the news, I started my LLC and got to work. Thus, Cassie Cope Consulting was born! At the beginning of the pandemic, this work was very much needed. So many women we’re going through similar transitions and it felt amazing to use my 10+ years of marketing power for good!

Today, my marketing agency has hit 6 figures, works with some of the top entertainment brands in Atlanta, and we just partnered with iHeartMedia and iHeartRadio. Now, I get to help brands create income with impact and it is an absolute dream come true.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There is a reason diamonds are made under pressure. haha If the road is smooth you’re doing something wrong. There have been struggles, but the reward of my work has made it all worth every second of it. I’ve learned that mindset is the biggest differentiating factor in business.

You have to prioritize grounding rituals such as mediation, gratitude journaling, and breathwork. Even if it’s just for 10 minutes a day it makes all the difference in productivity, stamina, and creativity. Everyone has a different recipe as to what works best for them and it’s important to lean into yours.

Running a marketing agency requires you to be “on” most of the time. It’s important to be innovative and continuously educate yourself and your team. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart, but I really love what I do.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Currently, I specialize in entertainment, hospitality, and tourism marketing. Most people in Atlanta know of me from my time with Live! at The Battery Atlanta. I also carry over 10 years of experience primarily in the Atlanta market. My clients’ results through innovative & award-winning market strategies have also been a major part of my journey. In addition to working with professional sports leagues, national acts, high profile clients, and corporations, along with overseeing the marketing department for a multi-million dollar entertainment & event district in front of Truist Park. I chose my experiences wisely to give my agency elevated expertise in entertainment marketing. Some of my more exciting projects have been featured on Jimmy Fallon, Good Morning America while reaching billions of people across the globe. Coming from a background of entertainment and digital strategy, I have an experimental & custom marketing approach that my clients love.

What matters most to you?
Giving back. Plain and simple. I feel like it’s so important to give back to the communities that have given so much to us. Any project I touch I hope to have a positive ripple effect. It’s been a tough two years for most of us and if we are ever going to make the world a better place, there is no time like the present.
