Today we’d like to introduce you to Joanna Myles.
Hi Joanna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The goal of my life has always been to encourage and motivate others in a way that will move them to another level of success. In the beginning of my career, I used my gift of encouragement to teach high and middle school students the beauty of math. For 15 years, I worked daily to show students how math would benefit their lifestyles in the future. I spent time working with teachers to build strategies to help students in their own classrooms. I presented classroom strategies and technology at district, state, and national conferences. My accolades include being teacher of year for two schools, district teacher of the year finalist, teacher of the month, and student chosen teacher of the year. My life has been all about educating students and teachers, however, lately I felt that I was not able to use my gifts to the fullest potential. The state and district requirements were not allowing me the time to teach what I knew students needed for the future. After 15 years, I decided to walk away from the profession I had pumped all my time and energy into perfecting.
This past year, I quit teaching completely to build my business. As a Real Estate Specialist, I felt I would be able to help families reach a dream of owning a home, selling to buy their forever home, or investing for the future. The joy of my job has been meeting wonderful people around Atlanta. I have been able to build relationships that I feel will continue past the homebuying process. My drive to be the best in my career has continued into my real estate career and shows in my success as I go the extra mile for all my clients.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to success as a Real Estate Specialist has not been smooth. Making the decision to quit my job in teaching meant I would have to step out on faith financially. I asked God to direct my steps as I felt the new path was in His plan for me. As an educator for 15 years, I was confident in my ability to teach students effectively. Real Estate was a different type of career and required I start the learning process from the beginning. I did not have the confidence to talk with clients about the housing market and was afraid to share with my community that I was a Real Estate Specialist. I quickly realized that if I did not get past myself and start learning the business, my success as a Real Estate Specialist would end before it began. I attended trainings, asked questions, and let everyone know I was available for business. Each day I ask the Lord to guide my steps and give me courage to learn to be the best in Real Estate.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a licensed Real Estate Agent with Platinum Real Estate of Atlanta where I specialize in Residential Real Estate. My areas include Henry, Rockdale, Newton, Dekalb, Clayton, Spalding, and Fayette Counties. I work with buyers who want to purchase their first home or their forever home. I help sellers negotiate the best deal for their homes. I engage investors in finding that diamond in the rough to build wealth for their business.
My determination to succeed in Real Estate is what sets me apart. I work constantly to find the best deals for my clients. I focus on my clients to build trust and a lasting relationship because my goal is to experience joy with my clients when they close on a house. Their smile is my reward!
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I have learned that success comes when I do everything to the best of my ability. God has given me many talents to share with others and I want to glorify His name through my work.
