Today we’d like to introduce you to Irene Tyndale.
Irene, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Having worked in the wedding and event industry for about 15 years, I embarked on my entrepreneurial journey 5 years go with Irene Tyndale Events after I was laid off from the hotel that I was working. In 2016 I acquired Bridal Ball Atlanta a boutique bridal show that host 2-3 shows per year.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
In 2011, an amazing boutique hotel property right outside of Atlanta recruited me. Despite having a variety of wedding venues and a lot of competition, I crushed my sales goals every quarter. I was successful with clients and vendors alike and on my way to becoming a Director of Catering. Then, upper management in the North wanted more weddings and higher goals. Despite the fact that I exceeded their revenue goals every quarter, they weren’t satisfied, so they put me on probation and sent me to sales training. In the midst of that, they laid me off two weeks before Thanksgiving. I was devastated.
Please tell us about Irene Tyndale Events & Bridal Ball Atlanta.
We believe that passion is the most important element of planning a wedding. When you have passion for the people you work with, design, and logistics coupled with experience and extraordinary organizational skills, you can plan meaningful and memorable experiences.
As creative professionals, we catch our clients’ vision, add the expertise that 20 years within the industry has afforded us, and run with it. They are as involved or uninvolved as they want to be, and we keep them up-to-date throughout the process.
In addition to planning weddings and events, we also offer event/floral design and stationery. We provide wedding and event planning services to Atlanta, Marietta, Roswell, and Georgia, including the North Georgia Mountains.
We bring old fashioned hospitality with modern planning savvy.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Initially, I researched everything to do with running a business. I downloaded checklists, read a ton of books and blogs, purchased webinars and courses, and figured out how to do what I needed to do. I spent HOURS figuring things out and implementing what I’d learned. I’d get frustrated and that would lead to errors, and then the process would start all over.
