Today we’d like to introduce you to Austin Whatley.
Hi Austin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started doing Drag back in 2015 in Macon, Georgia. I was 17 years old at a small gay bar called the mill. That bar closed and forced me to start performing in Atlanta and that’s the best thing that ever happened to me. Atlanta has inspired and taught me everything about the entertainment industry. I go by the name Medusa The Body.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was and still is a rough road sometimes but that makes you a stronger entertainer. If following your dreams was easy everyone would do it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Drag Queen so I entertain bars and nightclubs. I’m known for giving the crowd an escape from their reality. I’m most proud when people come up to me and tell me they love my work. I’m set apart from others because I give the crowd what they want.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
My lgbt community. Without the love and support from this community, I wouldn’t have a stage to step on. This community takes care of me and I do my best to take care of them.
