Check Out Katherine Nunez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katherine Nunez.

Hi Katherine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started off back in 2010 has a club promoter then while being in the club a lot of people would tell me that I should model that I was very pretty etc. etc., so I got placed in a lot of music videos for a lot of your favorite artists. After modeling and being on the cover of various magazines has my alter ego Kathy Red, I decided to transition into acting. I took classes with a very famous acting coach and started working on urban action films in 2018. My most popular film is Pocket Full of Game it’s on Amazon prime and Tubi. I also got to work on a project called Better Than My Last which is not out yet with lead actor Hassan Johnson from the series The Wire. I also got to host the New York Latino film festival this year which was an amazing experience for me because I got to shed light on how Latinos aren’t seen as much in Hollywood it was nice to be seen and heard in the Latin community.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. On top of it being very competitive, I am a single mother of two boys, one is in college and one is in high school. And it’s definitely a challenge every day trying to provide for my family and make ends meet and also pursue my dreams. I think one of the biggest challenges for me is balancing everything out but as a woman, I get it done.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an actress, model, and I am known for taking really dope pictures and also being very dramatic. LOL hence why I’m an actress. This year I am most proud of doing the UGG campaign for city jeans in the Bronx as well as hosting the New York Latino film festival in New York City this year. I am most proud of being able to just have the courage to do the things that I do and the tenacity to push forward and never stop going because we all know once you stop, that’s it. But when you keep going, you eventually reach your goals and it doesn’t matter how long it takes or how hard it is as long as it gets done and when it gets done, you’re gonna feel very much rewarded.

How do you think about happiness?
Being on set and being creative makes me happy. Also throwing parties for my friends makes me happy, LOL
