Today we’d like to introduce you to Becky DuBois.
Becky, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My mom started Honey Do Painters in 2000 when a friend asked her to paint a bathroom because he couldn’t find a painter who was willing to come out to paint one room. She started the small, family owned business on the premise that we would take painting jobs no matter how small or large. I took over about 5 years ago when she decided to retire and kept the same attitude that we will paint anything from one room to your entire house. Currently, my husband Steven and I do all of the painting.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Our biggest struggle has been trying to find reliable help. We pride ourselves on being punctual and reliable. It has been difficult to find employees with the same commitment, which is why we have remained small.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Honey Do Painters – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We specialize in painting occupied homes. Most painters prefer to paint new construction or exteriors. We don’t mind moving some furniture and talking to people while we paint.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We don’t have any big changes planned. We have found our niche and plan to continue as we are for the foreseeable future.
