Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadia Alexandria.
Hi Nadia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up here in Georgia raised by my mother who immigrated to the United States from Jamaica as a child. I picked up a passion for fashion and photography at a very young age. I remember back in elementary school, I became interested in fashion. In middle school, I was into it even more, I would dress myself and experiment with different looks every day. In high school, I made an Instagram account and that’s when my love for photography started. I would snap photos of my surroundings, edit the photo and post it to my Instagram account. My Instagram feed looked very good and started to grab the attention of family, friends and peers. I then decided to create an account just for photography. I would ask my peers if they wanted to do photoshoots and I began making money from it! I have done portraits, school graduation photos, baby showers, studio photoshoots, street photography, brand photos, couple photos, portraits photos, landscape, and more. I worked with @theapxmusic which is a hard electro-funk duo that started here in Atlanta, Ga.
Last year I graduated from Georgia State University and decided to focus on building my own clothing brand. I have been working on that the past year and officially launched on August 2021! It has been very going well and absolutely love the journey of becoming an entrepreneur. The name of my clothing brand is Kwofiex, the website is kwofiex.com and the Instagram page is @kwofiex. I sell cute, comfortable and fashionable clothes. In 2022 I will start to sell men clothes as well! I have customers from all over the country and find it very exciting. I can’t wait to see how much Kwofiex grows in the upcoming months/years! I recently worked with the famous Jamaican dancehall singer and songwriter Hoodcelebrityy.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been a smooth road so far! It took months of doing extensive research on how to start a business. It has been a major learning experience, I have learned so much in the past year regarding how to properly run a business and still learning everyday as I go. When being an entrepreneur, you have to learn how to do a lot of things by yourself. I do all the photography for my brand which includes finding models. Locating good photoshoot spots and editing the photos. I handle all of the accounting and money management. I designed my websites myself and managed them.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I own two businesses my clothing brand called Kwofiex and a professional photography company called Kwofiex Photography.
Kwofiex specializes in clothing and right now, we are known for Women’s clothing, the most popular items are our coats, joggers, tops, and jewelry. I believe what sets us apart from others is the uniqueness of our items and our customer service. The clothing is very good quality, comfortable, and fashionable.
Kwofiex Photography specializes in portraits: indoor and outdoor photography.
