Today we’d like to introduce you to Adarius “Datboisqueeze” Moragne.
Hi Adarius “Datboisqueeze”, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started off playing the drums when I was four years old. Music runs in my family. My aunt Lise taught me how to play. My step mom Linda taught me how to play the piano. I used to take the church piano home and make beats on it and record the finished product in cassette tapes. From there, I started using fruity loops to make beats. One of my close friends from church 30 Roc started his producing career and took off in the industry. He reached down and brought me up. Signed me to his label 1209 Records. He told me that if I gave him a year straight of hard work and grind that my life could change. Within that first year of grinding, I began to get placements. The biggest placement I received was “The Box” by Roddy RIcch. That song turned me into a three time Grammy-nominated producer. It also became the 65th song in history to go DIAMOND.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It wasn’t a smooth road. I have been doin music for a long time. It took me years to get focused enough to do music professionally. I was dealing with life issues. I was tryna find my way in life for a long time. Outside of music, I didn’t know what I wanted to do. Music was the only thing that made sense. I was workin 2 and 3 jobs at a time to support myself as well as my kids. While still finding time to still go to the studio and prove that his was what I wanted. I had lost my job and wasn’t able to be in my kid’s life and it had seems of got created time and space for me to mainly focus on my music career. I took the opportunity and now I’m here.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work in the music industry as a music producer/ songwriter. I’ve made beats for artists such as two chains, Kash Doll, DDG, Yo Gotti, Jojo, Tory Lanez, Gucci Mane, Chief Keef, Roddy Ricch. I’m mostly known for collaborated with my brother 30 Roc on the beat for “ The Box” by Roddy Ricch. I’m most proud of becoming a Grammy nominee and being a Diamond record producer. What stands me and 1209 records apart from others is our ability to create music with unique sounds and drums patterns. Always trying to push the envelope and be different.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Always invest in yourself. No one will invest in you before you do. Believe in yourself and have faith. Put work behind that faith and watch your work blossom. Take your craft seriously. If I knew that all I had to do was apply myself, I would have done it way earlier in life.
