Today we’d like to introduce you to Bridgette Washington.
Hi Bridgette, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am the child of a glamorous singing mother that also did hair. I too possessed a love for music all of my life but my gift of doing hair prevailed at the tender age of ten and afforded me the ability to provide for the child I had of my own at the age of 18. For approximately thirty years now, I have been practicing cosmetology including the years in my mother’s kitchen. It is the only career I have ever had and I am now the proud owner of AdriAnnie DavRose. My haircare brand is named after my brother, mother, father and grandmother. All but my father perished in 2010 all within a few months between May and July. In order to celebrate their lives, I opened my salon in November of 2010. I have added hair care products to the brand. I truly pride myself on providing service and products that bring out the best in every individual’s head of hair.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Building a clientele of people that value what I have to offer took me years but becoming what I wanted to attract was the key to achieving that goal.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am one of the most sought-after hairstylists in my area. I can provide almost any hair service that an African American female would wear. However, my most requested services are my shortcuts, coloring services, and silk presses. Not one client that has come to me consistently not seen an improvement in the overall health of their hair. I can say the same for my hair care product customers.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Me and my mom standing side by side doing hair and singing together to anything from the blues to rnb and even gospel!
