Rising Stars: Meet Brittany Wooten

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Wooten.

Hi Brittany, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
In 2013, I wasn’t allowed to go back to school due to finances. My dreams of becoming an Ob/Gyn was crushed. At that moment, I felt like my life had paused.

I was depressed. I settled for jobs I had no desire to do, and because I had no desire for what I was doing, I would constantly find myself consistently quitting or constantly calling out.

In 2018, I had a conversation with myself. Yes, I said myself. I told myself to use the gifts that God gave me to establish a life that I wanted to live. A life that was full of discipline, conversations, Art and collaborations. I knew I was a very talented person who didn’t deserve to settle for anything less than what I deserved, and as long as I truly worked for it and desired it, things would fall into place.

Back then, I was into Graphic designing, painting and more. That just wasn’t enough for me to decide what steps to take for my future. It wasn’t secure enough. Soon I noticed that I wanted to bring the images I created to life. With no hesitation, I went to Amazon and purchased my first camera. After that it was wrap. I knew that camera was supposed to be in my hands. The feelings I received when I used it on my first collab shoot was immaculate. I knew that my Nikon was going to take me wherever I wanted to go.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This road has not been smooth but it also haven’t been horrible! I have received so much support through this journey from people that I don’t even know as well as family and friends. Sometimes we look at others and start to compare our work to theirs and become discouraged. That’s one thing that I did do. I would hold myself back from sharing my images to others because I felt like it wasn’t good enough. That was one of my biggest bumps on this road.

It’s not about who does it better or who has a better eye then you do. It’s about the work and effort you put in. It’s about YOU creating a style that’s yours! Be happy and confident with who you are and what you brought to the table! Dare to be different and not like others.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I also specialize and is very successful at capturing scenes and images. Leveraged curiosity and innovation to drive originality. Fearless creator of candid and Unique Shots! Oh and I also specialize in making people feel DAMN good about themselves!

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The lesson I learned on my journey is that “it’s not about how long it took you or who got there first, just know you made it too!”
