Toddrick, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
COVID-19 padlocked many businesses, forcing layoffs and companies to downsize. I was one of many Americans that went through this. I had to find a way to thrive in such uncertain times. I chose to start my journey on the path of entrepreneurship, and ventured into the logistics industry. Learning more about the industry, I discovered that even during a major pandemic, this was an area that continued to flourish. Goods, freight, and other items will always need consistent transport. Therefore, I made the decision to immerse myself fully into the world of trucking and logistics, which led to the birth TRC Xpress, LLC. Shortly after starting TRC Xpress, several people started inquiring about how to get into the trucking industry. As a result, my brother Rashard Howard and I started TRC Xpress Consulting, LLC. Through TRC Xpress Consulting, we help our clients start their trucking business by providing them the resources needed to go from business formation to being ready to pick up their first load and start earning. In our first year of business we have started over 70 minority-owned trucking businesses and counting!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
From the trucking aspect, just like anything, logistics definitely has its ups and downs, but it’s been a true blessing. I would say the significant increase in gas prices has been the biggest challenge and the increase in truck prices has doubled.
With consulting, I wouldn’t necessarily call it a challenge because it’s what we do, however making sure our clients have a clear understanding of what it takes to get a trucking business started from a financial standpoint and the price increase of purchasing a truck is something we work hard to make sure our clients understand.

We provide stellar customer service and take pride in helping others reach their entrepreneurial goals. Our dynamic in the logistics industry is like no other. I founded TRC Xpress, LLC due to my front line experience of industry knowledge. My brother Rashard Howard and I co-founded TRC Xpress Consulting, LLC. Rashard’s 15 years of logistics experience has been invaluable to the company and our clients. Once our clients are open for business, they too have the option to let us dispatch for them to get loads through our sister company, TRC Xpress Dispatching, LLC. It is truly a family affair. My sister, Candice Howard is the CEO of TRC Xpress Dispatching, LLC and my other sister, Tyra Howard is the Operations Manager for TRC Xpress Consulting, LLC.
