Hi Koko, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve worked in the medical field for 12 years as a medical assistant. My job came to a sudden end in August 2017, I told myself that it will be the first and last time I would depend on a paycheck from someone else. I decided to take my savings and invest in a training to become a mobile teeth whitening technician. I became interested in real estate, which lead me into salon suites. I market my suites to other entrepreneurs.
With my consistency…it paid off! As of today, my company offers training, franchise opportunities, and suite rentals to business owners.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I definitely will not say it’s been easy! There were times I felt like I was stuck and couldn’t pass the brick wall. There were challenges dealing with cosmetics and getting the utilities turned on with the first location. Lesson learned is to seek advice from others in this industry.
I used affirmation, read them daily, wrote them on sticky notes. Affirmation like “You are the head and not the tail”; “You are the lender and not the borrow”
