Meet Jayden Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jayden Williams.

Hi Jayden, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a hands-on community advocate. I strongly believe in the philosophy of “Tomorrow is not a promise; now is the time to work.” Standing on my faith, echoed in Psalms 23 I walk with God, willing to help others to better their lives. My journey as a community servant leader began with a family tradition. Every Christmas, we would give out bags of fruit to homeless communities. My life was changed forever when one day a hand came out of a mound and pulled the bag in; I was shocked someone actually lived inside the mound.

Now a Freshman at Clark Atlanta University I am excited to continue my work at school, and in my community. I am here today because of the building relationships in my community, with corporative partners, family, and friends.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to your destiny will never be smooth! Being an entrepreneur and a community leader is always a bumpy road because you never know what’s next until it happens! When I joined the Henry County NAACP, there was not a youth chapter. I am the founding President. I recruited the Executive Board, and we became the most active group in the state. We were rocking and rolling, moving up in recognition and positions. Adults got mad, jealous, and dirty. They tried to break me mentally. They hurt me; deny me the right to vote and run for president again because I paid my fees thru the adult chapter. What??? It was awful!  It was protested and corrected; just the thought of someone hating your work. Man, I cried and decided to give it all up and stop. It took my mom and dad and others working on me to help me get back on my feet. I had never experienced black hurting blacks like that. There I was 16 and had to fight old black adults who were not working and had no track record of community work. But Grace brought me thru and on a higher platform. Some of those individuals can barely face me now and one actually call and apologized for the role she played. Her role was awful. As long as you trust the process while being transparent, you will go a long way in your career.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I have numerous positions and leadership just to name a few, I humbly serve on the Georgia NAACP Y&C Executive Committee, Freshman Class President at The Illustrious Clark Atlanta University, Founder/ CEO Of The Original Royals LLC.,

Former President of Y&C Henry County NAACP, ACCG (Association of County Commissioners) 2020 Youth Leader of the Year, twice Chairman of Stockbridge Youth Council, and Graduate Junior Commissioner of GAME On (Government and Me Engaged.)

A Political Strategist and Campaign Manager, for Commissioner Vivian Thomas, Deputy Chair of Henry County Board of Commissioners and so much more.

I have a passion for serving my community and building the next generation of movers and shakers. The process is not easy but as I tell my peers and mentees Ideas equal Results.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?

The most important lesson I’ve learned is that while you are building your legacy and helping others ensure that you take time for yourself. Make sure that once a week you take yourself out. You deserve more than you think.
