Rising Stars: Meet Tori Carr

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tori Carr.

Hi Tori, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Coloring was a big part of my growing up. The free creative to add color to a blank canvas has always been fun to me, as I got older I realized how important it is to wind down from your busy adult life. I did yoga, exercised, read, and a list of other things, the one thing I found that allowed me to relax was coloring the stress away. Putting in my headphones turning on Young Nudy or Gucci and coloring. Coloring my day away gave me a creative free mind and I wanted to share that feeling. I wanted to provide my city a different option or bring a new idea into their homes to relief stress so I created my own coloring book. The process alone was so fun. Once I put the promotion out there, I realized how many people… or 90’s babies still color. This is my first published coloring book and I wanted this project to be dedicated to the city that helped me, showed me to be creative and put art into the world. Lithonia is full or artists in all lanes and I wanted to place my print. The response has been amazing and I plan on releasing more coloring books for all ages, especially for the 90’s babies …hence the title “Coloring has no age limit”.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It actually has been a smooth road for this project simply because the city showed me love. We look out for each other and support everyone’s projects from music, jewelry, photography, and clothing lines. One thing we gone do is shop with one another. I was surprised at the response because there is a family dollar on every corner that sale coloring books but, instead people shopped with me and believed in me and my product. Learning how to produce a coloring book and learning how to publish it took research but, the outcome was beautiful…I couldn’t be more proud of myself.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My whole professional/artist career has been dedicated to giving back or supporting others. Marketing and public relations are my passions. I love finding a way to put people on and increase revenue. Personally, I move how I move because there is so much money out here and we have to find it. The money is either in your craft or supporting somebody with theirs. The one thing that sets me apart is that I’m not lazy. I work, network, research, and read. I love learning new ways to make money for myself and others. I love having multiple streams of income coming in. I’m a commission notary for the state of GA, I bake, I do resumes, I put in work.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck? Has not really played a part in my life or business. Hustling has. I genuinely love the work I do. Luck is like “hoping” for something to work in favor. You have to go get it. You have to talk to people, do your research, and think so far out of the box to grow in your life and business. You have to be thankful and motivated everyday. The world we living in waiting to get luck will have you stagnant for years.
